"TANKS FOR COMING!" SAYS TOP LAKELAND PARK
While overseas holidaymakers fret about fuel surcharges, visitors to a top Cumbria holiday park are being rewarded for staying loyal to Lakeland - by having their fuel costs refunded!
The offer is open throughout the summer to all touring caravan guests at Skelwith Fold Caravan Park who live up to 100 miles away, and who stay between Monday and Friday.
The Ambleside park's high-octane offer takes the form of a four-night package at three-night prices, saving guests £25.00 in pitch fees.
The amount, says park owner Henry Wild, roughly represents petrol for up to 200 miles of motoring.
This, he reports, is the average round-trip distance travelled by most guests.
But even those coming from twice as far, he points out, will be paying just half-price for their fuel!
Skelwith Fold has long been a favourite of touring caravan owners. Set in the 130 acres grounds of a former mansion house, it was last year the overall park winner Enjoy England Awards for Excellence.
The park's commitment to sustainable tourism has also earned it a number of important environmental accolades, including the David Bellamy Conservation Award at its top gold level.
"The vast majority of our guests are repeat visitors or here on recommendation, and we do genuinely feel their pain with fuel costs continuing to rise!" said Henry. "That's why we thought we would try and take any sting from their stay by chipping in for some or even all of their petrol" he added.
